Tendon & Ligament Injury, Rupture, and Tear Treatment

Tendon & Ligament Injury

Tendon & Ligament Injury occurs mainly due to two reasons:-

Strain

A Strain is an injury to a muscle that causes muscle fibers to break. The muscles in the back and thighs are the most frequent sites of strain.

The tendon rupture is a partial or complete tear of a tendon (tissue that connects muscle to bone). The Achilles tendon of the heel is a common site of tendon rupture.

Sprain

A sprain is an injury to a ligament. Ligaments are the strings of tissue that connect the bones in a joint. The ankle is a frequent site of sprain.

The tendinitis (sometimes called tendinitis) is the inflammation of a tendon caused by overuse of the muscle tissue. It mainly affects the shoulder, heel, knee, elbow, wrist, and hip.

The bursitis is inflammation of a bursa, a small fluid-filled sac that serves to reduce friction between a tendon and a bone. The shoulder, elbow, wrist, and foot are common sites of bursitis.

Common Symptoms

Typically, Tendon & Ligament Injury results in:

  • The pain of varying intensity, sometimes described as dull, throbbing, or sharp;
  • Swelling of the affected area; the faster it appears and the more severe the injury
  • The formation of bruises (bruises); their extent also testifies to the severity of the injury;
  • An inability to use the affected part normally;
  • Stiffness and loss of range of motion.
